The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) has opened a call for applications for a new programme: “Seed Grant for New African Principal Investigators (SG-NAPI)“, fully funded through the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The call for this new programme will remain open until 27 July 2021 and invites applications by scientists from selected African countries, who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- aged 40 or below;
- obtained their PhD abroad (outside his/her home country) within the last 5 years and returned to his/her home country within the last 36 months or will return home before the end of 2021;
- holding a position at an academic and/or research institution (including international research centres) in their home country;
- national of an eligible African country (in the Sub-Saharan region).
