Meet Amina Anchraouia Mohamed, a research engineer specialising in marine and coastal geology. Amina currently works at the National Institute for Research into Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment, in the Environment and Natural Resources Department.
“I’m currently in charge of the integrated coastal zone management service, and our main tasks are to carry out environmental diagnoses and morphodynamic characterisations of the Comoros coastline; at the same time, to study the socio-economic relations between coastal populations and the marine and coastal environment; and finally to draw up a plan for forecasting, adapting and restoring the Comoros coastline.”
“We regularly monitor coastal zones and work in collaboration with village associations and cooperatives in coastal localities to raise awareness and restore coastal zones.”
